I just unpacked my new computer! It is currently making backup copies, so I haven't had a chance to test it yet, but it looks good...

One could ask what I need another computer for. Well, can you really get enough computers? No, actually, I have a stationary computer that isn't more than a year old, and it is my main computer. I also have a computer used as a server that isn't more than a couple of months old. I also have a laptop at work, but that is a bit restrictive, since I don't have very much control over it. My wife has her own laptop that is no more than 5 months old. We have an older laptop that is used as an mp3-player for the stereo, and six or seven really old stationary computers that I haven't decided what to do with yet...

So why do I need another computer? Well, I don't move my stationary computer around, and it will be really useful when we are on vacation, and when I want to use it somewhere else, besides at my desk.

And because it's fun!!!

A big thanks to my wife, Annette, for buying it for me! Thank you, darling!

If anyone is wondering, I did give her her laptop...

Hitachi is a very helpful company. They have published a series of sounds that can be used to diagnose problems with your hard drive. Link to the page here! Let me know if the page or the sound files disappear. I have them saved if anyone wants them.

On a side note, it's interesting to see that Hitachi uses Domino as their web server.
